a couple words of advice

when you take dead batteries out of an appliance, throw them out or put them in a marked container for recycling right away, because an unmarked battery sitting around for longer than a second will be mistaken for a fresh battery, wasting valuable seconds the next time a battery of that size is required.

make it a priority to remember to brush your teeth in the morning; i forget a lot and it usually ends poorly.

if the person in front of you does not hold the door for you when entering/exiting a building, trail them to the next building that they go to and watch from the bushes to observe their door conduct with someone that is not you. this will help determine whether they do not like you or are just ill-mannered. be patient and vigilant, it might be a day or two before this person encounters their next public door with someone behind them.

if you want to, you can confront someone regarding their poor door etiquette. for some reason, though, people really don’t feel comfortable talking about it. it doesn’t make any sense. if you’re a rude person, that’s fine. but if i’ve camped out in the shrubs of your backyard for three days, at least have a conversation with me.

if it’s raining and you do not have an umbrella, a good way to share a stranger’s umbrella is to ease under its canopy while speaking or pretending to speak into a cell phone. this way, they will at least have to allow you to share their umbrella until you get off the line, then politely ask you who you are and what you are doing.

candy bars are delicious but also when you are in a hurry and need something to be able to eat while you walk, they are convenient to hold and to eat.

why is it a good idea to provide convicts with exercise and weight-lifting equipment? doesn’t that make them better fit to execute a rebellion?

it seems like people are running out of ideas about what to make movies about. does anyone else get that feeling?
